Transpetro is recognized with Antaq 2019 Award

Two Transpetro projects were recognized by the National Agency of Waterway Transportation (Agência Nacional de Transportes Aquaviários - Antaq), in an annual award promoted by the institution. In this year's edition of the Antaq Award, the Transpetro Simulators Center won second place, in the Innovative Initiatives category, and the São Sebastião Terminal (Terminal de São Sebastião - Tebar / SP) took fourth place, in the Environmental Performance category. The ceremony to deliver the trophy was held on December 11, at the agency's headquarters in Brasilia.
As one of the resources available to qualify and train the company's sea personnel, the simulators of the Transpetro Academy make it possible to carry out theoretical and practical classes, with highly realistic simulations of the different scenarios faced by professionals on a daily basis. The work was designed by Transpetro consultant, Commander Gilberto Maciel, together with Senior Engineer Officer Giuseppe Franca de Oliveira and marine engineer Ivan Croce.
For Maciel, winning second place in the 2019 Antaq Award is a recognition from a relevant entity about Transpetro's investment in technological innovation to train its technical staff. “We are the only company in the southern hemisphere with deck and machine simulators connected, which is an advantage for some courses. This award tastes like victory, especially at a time when we are preparing to offer the services of our center to the foreign market, both in terms of customized training and maneuver analysis”, he said. The consultant Maciel also added that the project continues to expand, with the forecast of offering new courses, currently available only abroad.

Tebar's environmental performance is also recognized
The Transpetro operating unit with the greatest product movement, Tebar, was present in the Antaq Award with the fourth place in the Environmental Performance category, due to the annual evolution in the Environmental Performance Index (Índice de Desempenho Ambiental - IDA). “Caring for the environment and health are values for the company. We are flattered by the award and we will fight to improve our indexes even more”, stated the general manager of Institutional Relations at Transpetro, Giovanni Cavalcanti Paiva, upon receiving the award.
