The Petrobras Movies in Motion project promotes free film sessions in public schools.
The project covers about 100 Brazilian municipalities, through which pass oil and gas pipelines, or there are operating units of the company. These are in the States of Amazonas, Amapá, Pará, Maranhão, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, Bahia, Goiás, Distrito Federal, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
In 2013, there were 154 sessions and were exhibited three feature-length movies, which covered all age groups. Besides being a far-reaching social and cultural activity, the Petrobras Movies in Motion project aims to use the cinema as a teaching tool, stimulating learning when addressing topics of general interest, such as recycling, environment, and citizenship, among others.
