Transpetro announces technology investments during Rio Pipeline 2023

Transpetro is negotiating a new agreement with the Pipeline Technology Center the  (CTDUT) in order to study new technologies for use in contingency situations, product transport and inerting of sections in order to execute pipeline repairs The information was provided today (8/8) in Rio Janeiro by Transpetro President Sérgio Bacci. The subsidiary is one of the founders of the agency, together with Petrobras and the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), and maintains a Cooperation Agreement for conducting tests in order to adopt technologies geared to damage mitigation, covering the use of PIGs, repairs with resins and leak detection systems. The company expects to allocate approximately R$5 million to the partnership by next year.

“Safety is always first. Maintaining the integrity of the pipelines is our priority, and this work is compatible with this goal. We have the same focus in all areas and activities of the company. And as happens in the aeronautical industry, each fault is studied and analyzed in great detail so that we may create barriers to prevent them from reoccurring”, stressed Bacci. 

 Transpetro at Rio Pipeline 

Sponsor of  Rio Pipeline 2023, largest event of the pipeline segment in Latin America and one of the largest in the world, Transpetro marked its presence at the conference with participation in seven plenary sessions and presentation of over 30 technical works.   “Our company is the largest oil, derivatives and biofuel logistics company in Latin America and returning to participation in Rio Pipeline is essential for presenting the dimension of our businesses. Thanks to our operations people are able to travel the roads throughout our country, receive deliveries daily and travel by air. Most of the fuel used in these everyday activities uses our pipeline grid of approximately 8.5 thousand kms that traverses all regions in Brazil”, he stated. 

In the space #SomosTranspetro, a 122m² room located on the mezzanine, there is a studio where the Podcast “Pipeline Talk” is produced, receiving the participants of the event in its programming. At the location the company furthermore included the photographic exhibition “Transpetro under different looks”. The purpose is to empower one of the main assets of the company, elected by the new management: people. Built by workforce collaboration, the exhibition portrays, through photographs, a sensitive and humanized view of  Transpetro’s activities throughout Brazil.
