Transpetro participates in the Gender and Race Pro-Equity Program

On April 19, Transpetro signed the term of commitment for the Gender and Race Pro-Equity Program (Programa Pró-Equidade de Gênero e Raça - PPEGR) in Brasília (DF). It is the fourth time that the company participates in this action, which is promoted by the Special Secretariat for Policies for Women with Support from UN Women, International Labor Organization and the Secretariat for Policies to Promote Racial Equality. The program aims to encourage equal opportunities between men and women within organizations, contributing to the end of all forms of discrimination in access, remuneration, rise and permanence in employment.

With the signature of the term, Transpetro plans to adjust the job description, adapting the name of the positions according to the gender; training of workforce members on gender and race issues; stimulate the increase of women in the selection processes for managerial functions; inform the workforce about the ten-day period of paternity leave and extension of maternity leave; in addition to promoting debate on violence against women both with the workforce and with communities.

Since joining the Program in 2009, the company has been developing activities aimed at ending forms of discrimination between men and women in the labor market. Among them are the strengthening of initiatives to combat domestic and family violence and the creation of a booklet with clarifications on moral harassment.

The general manager of Communication and Social Responsibility at Transpetro, Márcia Figueiredo, assesses that "the company's professionals will have the opportunity to overcome the difficulties of professional advancement through incentive actions for the exercise of managerial functions".

In recognition of the initiatives developed, Transpetro won the Pro Gender Equality Label in all editions in which it applied. The company received the label in 2010, 2013 and 2015.
