Coari receives national recognition at the 2023 Antaq Award

The Coari Terminal (AM) operated by Transpetro won first place among the companies nominated in the category that assesses Environmental Performance (IDA) at the Antaq Award, delivered by the National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq) on 23 November in Santos (SP).

The award traditionally recognizes initiatives that stood out for their contributions to improvements in providing waterway transportation services to society. With the theme Best ESG Practices and Innovation, this year the award showcased technical-scientific productions and initiatives that disseminate the best environmental, social and governance practices.

At the event the companies awarded were engaged in providing services and exploration of waterway transportation infrastructure, which adopted initiatives to further institutional improvements, contributing to a better response to society’s demands.

The IDA recognizes the port administrations responsible for Organized Ports and Private Use Terminals (TUPs) and is divided in two modalities: Highest Environmental Performance and Highest Annual Evolution of the Environmental Performance Index. The Coari Terminal was recognized in the modality that awards public and private port administrations that exhibited the highest positive IDA variations based on the 2022 cycle evaluation.

The sustainability and ESG commitments (environmental, social and governance) are a Transpetro priority. The Coari Terminal, on the banks of the Solimões River, is an installation built in the Amazon forest, 16 km from the City of Coari, which makes managing processes even more challenging due its location in a sensitive area.
