Compliance actions promote an integrity environment at Transpetro

Originating from the Petrobras Corruption Prevention Program (PPPC) applied to Transpetro, the compliance actions geared to ensuring an integrity environment at the company have been in place for over 7 years. They are measures implemented to ensure the company complies with legal and regulatory norms, policies and directives, in order to prevent, detect and correct deviations and non-conformities, especially pertaining to ethics and transparency issues.

This work was performed by the Conformity Management, but involves all employees. “As Transpetro contributors, we are all responsible for maintaining business environment with integrity, transparency and ethics”, highlights area manager Carolina Soares.

Among actions promoted during the period it is worthwhile noting the own creation of a structure geared specifically to handling Governance, Risk and Conformity topics, working in conjunction with other company areas. In this manner the company optimized efforts and minimized integrity risks such as fraud and corruption.

Special mention is also due for the implementation of the Due Diligence process, a tool for the purpose of assessing the potential integrity risks of the company in its commercial relationships, based on the assessment of the history and the corruption fighting practices of our vendors and clients, and the integrity Background Check, a support instrument for the manager in decision making that provides information on the integrity of candidates for positions.

Another important action was the revision of the Consequences System for Upper Management and Audit Committee employees, which defines and guides the relationship between the company and its leadership, establishing consequences for non-compliance with the obligations incurred from such relationship. In addition there is the fraud and corruption risk assessment, structuring of the investigative processes of conformity incidents, improvement to the Ethical Conduct Code and periodic training on this topic made available to employees.

“Ensuring an ethical and transparent environment, providing safety to decision making, contributes to the continuous recognition of Transpetro as an ethical, efficient and competitive company ”, adds Carolina.
