“De Olho no Duto” ends the first cycle of activities in the Southeast Region

The “De Olho no Duto” project, which aims to bring arts and culture to neighboring residents of the Transpetro pipelines, finished on the World Circus Day (3/27) the first cycle of free attractions held in the Southeast Region of Brasil.
From January to March 2018, troupes of clowns from professional theater and circus companies performed activities in 101 communities in 39 counties in the four states. The work brought talking experiences, theatrical shows and circus workshops to children, youth and adults with the aim of spreading information on human rights.
“De Olho no Duto” is the result of an agreement between Transpetro and the Cultural Institute Escola Livre de Palhaços (Eslipa). Its objective is to maintain a permanent dialogue with institutions and communities in the areas close to the company's pipeline zones. By the end of 2019 the project will have accounted for more than 600 attractions performed by six street and circus theater groups: Circo do Asfalto and Pequeno Circo (São Paulo - SP), Off-Sina Group and Cia. Chirulico (Rio de Janeiro - RJ), Pano de Roda Association (Minas Gerais - MG) and Circo Teatro Capixaba (Espírito Santo - ES).
During the activities, the artists also disseminate Transpetro's communication channels, actions and preventive information, to ensure the safety of people, facilities and the environment. Among the channels, “168” stands out, a telephone aimed at relationship with the community to send doubts, complaints and suggestions. The call is free and the phone works 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
