The main companies operating maritime oil terminals and monobuoys in Latin America had the opportunity to share best practices and learn from the experiences lived by the partners, in a technical and collaborative environment. The 5th International Workshop of Lessons Learned in the Operation of Maritime Oil Terminals held on June 23 and 24 at the Transpetro Academy (RJ), sought to foster safer, more sustainable and more efficient operations in the sector. Geared to terminal operator representatives, the workshop was promoted by the Latin American Society of Maritime Oil Terminals and Monobuoy Operators (Slom).
The President of Slom, Ricardo Izquierdo, praised the opportunity to gather the main companies of the sector of Latin America. “We were very happy with this space that was created for people to exchange knowledge in a frank manner, openly sharing their experiences and concerns”, he noted.
Slom Vice-president Francisco Barreto highlighted the technical seminars held at the event. “ The operators speak the same language, share their issues, discuss their problems and present the solutions developed so as to prevent their reoccurrence. The integration promoted by this meeting is essential for the industry, so much so that we are on the fifth edition”, he stated.
