Our port activities are recognized by Federal Government award

We were recognized by the Portos + Brasil Award for our results in the port management area. The third place obtained in the Private Use Handling/Terminal Growth – Liquid Bulk results from the 73.5% increase in handling at the Ilha Comprida and Ilha Redonda (RJ) terminals in 2020 compared to 2019.

Promoted by the Federal Government this award recognizes the ports and terminals with the best management performance and excellence in port administration. Transpetro is a member of the Brazilian Association of Port Terminals (ABTP) and the Private Port Terminal Association (ATP).

The Ilha Redonda and Ilha Comprida Terminals handle liquified petroleum gas (LPG) logistics in the State of Rio de Janeiro. Connected to the Duque de Caxias (Reduc) Refinery by two bi-directional pipelines, they can transport up to 660 m3 of product an hour. Ilha Redonda has storage capacity for 44.8 thousand m³ of LPG in three refrigerated tanks and two spheres for pressurized LPG. The terminal can refrigerate approximately 160 m³ of LPG per hour.

TRBA

Petrobras was the winner in the same category for its management of the Natural Gas Regasification Terminal of Bahia (TRBA). The controller manages the asset, while Transpetro maintains the terminal in perfect operating condition by providing operational and maintenance services.

To optimize the operational performance of the LPG regasification terminals, we exceeded important performance indicators defined by Petrobras. For the Operational Availability Index, for example, TRBA obtained a 99.94% index between January and July. This is 3% higher than the goal of 97% established by the controller.

Conceived by the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Portos + Brasil Award recognizes the best practices adopted by the public and private ports in the country and those professionals responsible for these initiatives.
