Ship Jorge Amado concludes series of gas tankers produced for Transpetro

Sixth and last gas tanker manufactured in the country especially for the company, the ship Jorge Amado left this Friday, 16th, from the Suape Terminal (Ipojuca / Pernanbuco - PE) to Fortaleza, where it will make its first supply operation and then proceed with the inaugural trip, whose destination will be Belém do Pará.
With almost one hundred meters in length and 33 in height to the top of the mast, Jorge Amado has a capacity for 4 thousand cubic meters of cargo and a four-stroke propulsion engine. It is smaller and lighter than conventional gas tankers, which makes navigation easier in regions with greater draft restrictions, a differential to larger vessels.
Safety is the highlight of the vessel, which, like all others in the fleet, meets the strict requirements of international authorities. Jorge Amado is prepared to transport Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and operate in all regions of Brazil and South America.
