Transpetro and Hemorio carry out blood donation campaign

In an action promoted in partnership with Hemorio, the Rio de Janeiro blood network, Transpetro carried out on September 25th a blood donation campaign among employees at the company's headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. In total, 89 blood bags were collected for Hemorio's stocks, after the screening carried out by the institution's team among the 115 volunteers who applied for the donation.
According to Hemorio, external collection is of great importance because it complements the number of donors needed to serve the population of Rio de Janeiro, in addition to arousing the desire to help others.
In the State of Rio, only 1% of the population donates blood and in Brazil the statistic rises to 1.8%, a figure below that recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), which is 3%.
