Transpetro and public agencies in São Paulo align strategies to respond to emergencies

On September 28, Transpetro held a Risk Management Workshop in partnership with the Civil Defense Coordination of the City of São Paulo (Coordenadoria de Defesa Civil da Cidade de São Paulo - Comdec). The event, which took place in the auditorium of the Department of Water and Sewage (Departamento de Água e Esgoto  - DAE) of São Caetano do Sul, brought together about 200 participants and aimed to present the preventive and contingency actions developed by the company and highlight the risks of intervention by unauthorised people in the pipeline ranges.
Comdec, the Fire Department and the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo (Companhia Ambiental do Estado de São Paulo - Cetesb) highlighted their respective experiences with responding to emergencies involving Transpetro facilities and the possible risks to people and the environment.
"The workshop was a success. We were able to bring together several public bodies in the São Paulo metropolitan region. We were able to pass on the message of the importance of integration and joint action in responding to clandestine diversions emergencies, not only in a corrective but also in a preventive manner. In addition, it was another opportunity to publicize the number 168, the relationship channel between the community and Transpetro ", explained the general manager of Security and Contingency of the company, Nelson Barboza.
The workshop involved representatives of Civil Defense and public managers from the municipality of São Paulo, Grande ABC, Guarulhos, Osasco, Barueri, Taboão da Serra, Mogi das Cruzes, Itaquaquecetuba, Suzano, Ferraz de Vasconcelos, Santana do Parnaíba and Cajamar.
