It was seaside at the Angra dos Reis Waterway Terminal (Tebig) – installation responsible for approximately 90% of all oil exports by Petrobras – where Transpetro celebrated its 25 year history. The ceremony was held on Monday 6/12 and was attended by the entire board, part of the workforce, and authorities. The event was also transmitted online, connecting over 14 thousand contributors on land and sea, marking a new growth phase of company investments.
“The future of Transpetro will continue to be linked to Brazil’s development. We will transport energy from whatever source it is to wherever it is needed by Brazilians. To this end we will return to making strong investments in the next few years. Transpetro during the next 25 years will be connected to a more sustainable world, recognized for its activities with the communities and a source of pride for its workforce. We will maintain our main goal: to go wherever Brazil needs us!”, stated Transpetro President, Sérgio Bacci.
Bacci also reasserted that Transpetro will resume investing in ship procurements especially to meet the needs of Petrobras. The President established a task force to develop the strategy for its owned fleet expansion.
"We celebrate the 25 years of Transpetro looking to the future. Petrobras and Transpetro will march together towards a just energy transition, as main players of a new growth cycle for Brazil’s energy sector", emphasized Jean Paul Prates, President of Petrobras.
During the ceremony there was an unveiling of a commemorative plaque for the 25 years of the company and presentation of an institutional video created especially for the occasion. President Sérgio Bacci cut a symbolic anniversary cake, followed by a presentation of the Petrobras Symphonic Orchestra, a project sponsored by Petrobras.
Transpetro, a great evolving company
Transpetro operates 49 terminals (28 waterway and 21 land), approximately 8.5 thousand kilometers of pipelines and 36 vessels. The company is the largest multimodal logistics company for oil and derivatives in Latin America and provides services to distributors, the petrochemical industry and other companies of the oil and gas sector, with a portfolio including over 130 clients, including Petrobras.
With operations geared to safety, respect for life, people and the environment, it is staffed by multidisciplinary and diverse teams that fulfill the mission to ensure the logistics and energy transportation that powers Brazil and society on its path to development. .
The company will also hold a public service exam to meet the new demand for services and to restore areas that need more personnel. The selection process will be announced before year end.
