Transpetro conducts emergency response training at the São Sebastião Terminal (Tebar)

On Thursday (11/17) at the Waterway Terminal Almirante Barroso (Tebar), in São Sebastião (SP), Transpetro held an exercise that simulated an emergency response situation. During the training, some of the residents of the Vila Amélia community were evacuated and a section of Avenue Salles de Oliveira was closed and used as meeting place. In this location a support structure was mounted for clarification of questions by the population regarding the exercise and the terminal, with distribution of informational brochures.

Approximately 100 persons participated in the three hour training. The exercise was part of a regular training schedule conducted by Transpetro for the purpose of continually testing its strategies and the efficacy of its response actions. “The simulations help us improve our processes so as to train our teams and respond to emergencies. From them we also improve interaction with partnering public agencies and the surrounding community”, states HSE Sector Manager of Tebar,  Cid Atusi Outi.

The event had the participation of the Municipality of São Sebastião, through its Public Safety Department (Segur), Civil Defense, Fire Department, Traffic Department (Detraf), Health Department (Sesau) and Mobile Emergency Care Service  (Samu), and representatives of the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo (Cetesb).

Transpetro reiterates its commitment to maintain strict safety standards in all of its operations, and stresses its commitment to responsible and sustainable activities in all regions in which it operates.
