Among the technologies presented at RioPipeline 2023, Transpetro highlighted on Wednesday (8/9) one of its most relevant social projects: Cajuhiri Atravessado. Two hours away from the Coari Terminal in the Amazon are located the indigenous villages of Cajuhiri Atravessado, Cajuhiri Atravessado I and Tupã da Fazenda, awarded with actions for strengthening community organization. The company invested R$ 9 million in the initiative and recently signed an agreement with Sebrae for development of indigenous people on four fronts: entrepreneurship, associativism, innovation and technical rural consulting.
“To present a project of this magnitude in an event such as this demonstrates that the industry is gradually understanding the importance of these initiatives. All technology is linked in some manner with benefits to people and reducing the impact on the communities surrounding the projects. What we are doing in this project may serve as reference, indicating we must advance in establishing connections”, states Community Relations Coordinator, Karen Aragão. Based on feedback from indigenous people, the initiative has three main pillars: food safety, through bi-weekly donations of local products; the retrieval of relatives, through the building of houses; and potentializing the cultivation of nuts and açai.
Security on the pipelines
Security was the theme of two other projects presented by Transpetro at the event. The Manager of the Pipeline Protection Control Center, Marcos Bellé, introduced a work that uses disruptive technologies in the monitoring of pipelines. According to Bellé, “by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms, it is possible to identify patterns that indicate potential risks to the pipelines, and thus allow for faster response in asset management”.
The technical consultant for Pipeline Integrity Management, Anderson Pacheco, presented the method developed by Transpetro for the purpose of improving security of the gas pipelines. Pacheco explained that the methods contains alternatives to those stipulated in national regulations: “Transpetro proposes that preventive measures be adopted to reduce the damage potential to the pipelines by third parties, such as more intensive signage and physical barriers”.
