Transpetro launches 168

Transpetro now has a new way for contact between the company and the communities where the company's pipelines are. The number 168 will replace six different 0800 numbers that were made available. Service at 168 is free, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As it is a unique and easily memorable channel, the three-digit number will make it easier for population to reach the company. The 0800 numbers continue to operate in a redundant system for the next two years.

Transpetro reinforces its communication with the communities in order to avoid actions by unauthorized people in its facilities, which poses a risk of fire and even explosion. New pipeline identification plates are being installed on the tracks to warn of the danger of third party interventions. Pipeline transportation of fuels is safe and efficient, as long as it is carried out by Transpetro employees.
The company maintains its commitment to the regions where it operates, respecting the safety of people, the environment and its facilities. To accomplish this, it invests in new technologies, regularly inspects pipeline lanes and seeks to facilitate the communication channel with the community.
It is essential that the residents neighboring the facilities contribute to the company, either by sending criticisms, suggestions or reporting any suspicious movements in the pipeline zone or in nearby land, as an example:
• Presence of tractors and heavy vehicles close to the pipeline;
• Works and constructions on the pipeline zone;
• People working on the pipeline zone without the Transpetro uniform;
• Presence of cars and people with hoses and other equipment;
• Fuel trucks close to the pipeline lanes;
• Strong smell of fuel in the area.
