Transpetro puts into operation two more ships built in Pernambuco

Two new vessels built for Transpetro in Pernambuco started operating on October 6th. Gas tanker Lucio Costa and suezmax Machado de Assis, respectively, 16th and 17th ships of the Fleet Modernization and Expansion Program (Programa de Modernização e Expansão da Frota - Promef), left for their first voyage.
Eighth suezmax built by Estaleiro Atlântico Sul (EAS), Machado de Assis will continue to supply in Salvador (BA). The ship has the capacity to carry around one million barrels of oil. With a length of 274 meters, its deadweight is 157,700 tons.
Lucio Costa, the fourth gas delivery to the company, left Vard Promar Shipyard and will proceed to Suape Terminal. With 117 meters in length and capacity to transport 7 thousand m³ of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), the vessel is prepared to operate in all regions of Brazil and in South America.
These two deliveries confirm the quality of the services performed and required by the company, in partnership with the shipyards, which enables an improvement in the logistical efficiency for the flow of Petrobras production and increases the results of Transpetro.
Currently, nine Promef ships are under construction. In the EAS there are seven vessels (two suezmax and five aframax) and two gas tankers in the Vard Promar. These vessels are expected to be delivered by 2019.
