Transpetro simulates leak in Duque de Caxias oil pipeline

Transpetro held a training session on Wednesday (12/4) with the community of the Marilândia neighborhood, in Duque de Caxias (Rio de Janeiro - RJ), during a gasoline leak simulation caused by an attempted theft of fuel in a pipeline. The exercise is one of the preventive actions carried out by the company to warn about the risks of this type of crime that can cause fires and even explosions.
During the simulation, about 30 residents around the Orbel II pipeline (which connects Duque de Caxias to Betim, in Minas Gerais) were removed from their homes by the Civil Defense and taken to a meeting point.
In the training scenario there was a victim. The containment of the alleged leak was carried out by teams from Transpetro, which mobilized around 50 employees on site.
The training was supported by the State Environment Institute (Instituto Estadual do Ambiente Inea / Rio de Janeiro - RJ), the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis  - Ibama), the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade - ICMBio), the Fire Department and Civil Defense.
