The Madre de Deus Waterway Terminal (Temadre), located in Bahia and operated by Transpetro, was awarded 2nd place in the Growth in Handling of Liquid Bulk category at the 4th edition of the Portos + Brasil Award. Promoted by the Ministry of Ports the awards ceremony for the “Oscar:” of the Brazilian port sector was held on Wednesday (9/8) in Brasília (DF).
Transpetro was represented by the Operational Manager of Temadre, Jorge Alberto Nogueira Rego; by the Manager of Institutional Relations for the company, Pedro Modenesi Pitta Pinheiro; and by the Chief of Staff of the President’s Office, Roni Anderson Barbosa, who received the trophy in the name of President Sérgio Bacci. “This award was offered by the Ministry of Ports and Airports through the Ports Department, and seeks to recognize best practices and best results, and Temadre of Transpetro demonstrated high handling volume and for this reason deserved this award. It illustrates the quality of the team and the quality of the people that work at Transpetro. This is very satisfying to upper management. We have seen a strong commitment of the teams with this process, and certainly new awards will come in the future”, highlighted Roni Barbosa.
“This award is fruit of the effort and work we are undertaking to optimize the installations and eliminate operational bottlenecks”, stated Temadre’s operational manager Jorge Alberto Nogueira Rego. “We work on completely identifying the bottlenecks, detecting all the points that prevented an increase in handling at the terminal and have worked to eliminate them one by one. In addition to the process optimization work, we have sought new business opportunities.” According to Jorge Alberto, one of the initiatives that contributed to the performance of the terminal and winning the award was the improvement in operation of simultaneous derivative loads and the increase in the oil flow system.
The ceremony for the 4th edition of the Portos + Brasil Award was attended by the Minister of Ports and Airports, Márcio França; and the Governors of Paraná, Carlos Massa Ratinho Júnior, Maranhão, Carlos Brandão, and Rondônia, Marcos Rocha.
