Transpetro announced on Tuesday 10/8 the results of the Transpetro em Movimento (Transpetro in Motion) program, the first public awards for cultural and sports projects in the history of the company. In total, 28 projects were chosen with a potential to positively impact approximately 300 thousand people in 64 municipalities in all regions of the country. Together, the selected projects will receive investments of up to R$ 17 million financed via the Rouanet Law and the Federal Sports Incentive Law. The initiatives selected have as a focus the promotion of education, income generation and strengthening of Brazilian culture.
The Transpetro em Movimento Program received a total of 1,760 projects, of which 377 were related to sports and 1,383 to culture. Among those awarded, 15 are cultural initiatives and 13 are sports initiatives to be executed in 19 states and the Federal District.
Diversity and inclusion are the highlights of the selected projects. Municipalities in the Northeast, North and Center-west, regions historically underprivileged for this type of initiative, will receive more than half of the scheduled cultural and sports actions. Most of the activities will be geared to children and youths, blacks, LGTBQIAPN+, traditional populations and communities and persons with disabilities. The cultural projects include music, dance, theater, circus, crafts and intangible heritage. Sports projects cover modalities such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, martial arts, track and field and surfing.
“This initiative achieves a goal established at the start of my term: going where Brazil needs us. And this path is not only restricted to logistics, our expertise. We are resuming our participation in economic and social development, in democratic manner and capillarity, investing in incredible projects that have the face of Brazil. For sure they will foster our culture, promote learning and have positive impact for society, our greatest objective”, stated the President of Transpetro, Sérgio Bacci.
The initiatives chosen were submitted to administrative and technical screening and assessment by a mixed selection committee with representatives from the Ministries of Culture and of Sports and the Communications Department (Secom) of the Federal Government. The commissions were composed of Transpetro professionals and external consultants with renowned technical competence and experience in the cultural and sports segment.
According to the Business and Media Communications Manager of Transpetro, Lílian Rossetto, the awards were transparent and judicious. “The results of the Transpetro em Movimento Program marks a new chapter in the history of Transpetro, reiterating its role as social transformation agent and strategic partner in the development of Brazil. We are investing in the cultural and sports future of the country, promoting social transformation where it is most necessary”, she stated.
The Program
The awards follow the rules of the Rouanet Law and the Federal Sports Incentive Law and the directives of the Ministries of Culture and of Sports, with which the company has signed a partnership. The first bid invitation with public awards by Transpetro was launched on 12 June, on the 26th Anniversary of the company, and enrollment ended on 16 July.
The projects are classified into the action lines “education” and “intangible cultural heritage and preservation”, considering as pillars the aspects of Brazilian identity, diversity and inclusion and scope. The actions must contribute to attainment of the goals established in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations (UN).
The program further includes three cross-cutting themes that were awarded extra points: Sustainability, Human Rights and Innovation. In addition, extra points were granted to projects with execution planned in regions of interest of Transpetro (within the operation areas of the company) or that are geared to audiences considered a priority (traditional communities, indigenous people, fishermen, Quilombola settlements, disabled persons, LGBTQIAPN+, women, children and blacks).
