For the first time we executed transshipment operations (also known as ship to ship) for Petrobras with ships anchored in the Todos os Santos Bay in Bahia. In this activity, concluded in the beginning of June, 60 thousand m³ of crude oil was transferred from the Eagle Paraíso ship to the João Cândido, which subsequently offloaded the product at the Madre de Deus Terminal (BA) to supply the Mataripe Refinery owned by Acelen.
The operation implemented a new raw material supply logistic to Acelen, promoted the vision of generating value to our clients and ratified our leadership in oil and derivative transshipment operations.
This operation demonstrates our technical capacity in overcoming challenges in the building of logistic solutions, paving the way for success in operations of this nature in synergy with the competent authorities, partners and clients.
The Todos os Santos bay is the largest in Brazil and the second largest in the world. This geographic context places the State of Bahia in a differentiated position in the global market for oil and derivatives, allowing the Madre de Deus Terminal to receive and offload oil from higher capacity vessels, resulting in lower costs to our clients.
