We have donated 992 tons of food in São Paulo

To minimize the impact of Covid-19 in the surroundings of the pipeline easement strips where we operate, we have donated 992 tons of food to approximately 20 thousand families in the greater São Paulo area.
Through the Social Hosting Program, held during June, July and August, we have designated R$ 5 million for the purchase and delivery of almost 62 thousand staple food baskets and hygiene kits in 12 communities of the cities of Cubatão, Guarulhos, Itaquaquecetuba, Osasco, Santo André and São Paulo.
The program started in May, with a pilot program conducted in the Parque Savoy neighborhood in the west region of São Paulo. At the time 2,300 baskets were donated. In the current cycle of the program, which is held between 6/9 and 6/19, the company donates 20 thousand baskets to residents of the cities of Cubatão, Guarulhos, Itaquaquecetuba, Osasco, Santo André and São Paulo.
Each staple food basket contains 16 kilograms and is composed of 20 items, including food items and cleaning products, such as rice, beans, pasta, powdered milk, toilet paper, dish detergent, hand soap and bleach. The selection of the families in need and the definition of the best delivery logistics in each community was executed jointly with a partner network (resident associations and health clinics). The basket delivery is done by means of cards and passwords, personal and non-transferable.

Distribution with safety

One of the pre-requisites we defined for the distribution of the baskets was that gatherings would be avoided in compliance with recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health. Those responsible for the distribution must observe the required social distancing and be equipped with gloves and masks, in addition to the use of alcohol gel 70°INPM, also donated.
