We initiated operations of the refrigerated liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) system at the Barra do Riacho Waterway Terminal (TABR), located at the Espírito Santo state city of Aracruz. With such, the unit adds to its tank storage capacity of 20 thousand tons, for the purpose of production continuity by Petrobras in Espírito Santo and meeting the fuel demand.
This event occurred on April 27, when the TABR received a load of 10 thousand tons of refrigerated LPG from the vessel Seasurfer. The product was then unloaded and stored in refrigerated tanks at a temperature of - 42°C.
The new activity brings flexibility to the logistic sector of Petrobras, making Transpetro another competitive option for the market. This happens exactly at a critical period, since the demand for LPG is increased due to the social distancing imposed by the fight against Covid-19.
The LPG that arrives to the TABR meets the entire Espírito Santo demand; the surplus is transported by ship to other states.
